2012 MARUTI SUZUKI SX4 CELEBRATION EDITION LAUNCHED!

New 1.6-liter 106bhp Maruti Suzuki SX4 spitting distance away

facelifted_suzuki_sx4_china-2

Maruti will relaunch the Suzuki SX4 with a new 1.6-liter 106 bhp petrol engine that meets the Bharat Stage-IV standards. That makes it just 8 bhp short of the all-new Honda City. Torque would be between 165-175 Nm.
The 106 bhp SX4 will also be offered with an automatic transmission during the upcoming Diwali festive season. Automatic transmission are beginning to gain popularity in India. Automatics are not preferred by many car buyers in India, but in the premium models, it is compulsory to have one variant of late.
The new Suzuki SX4 will don a slightly revised front grill among many other changes. Its interiors will also be tweaked a little.
The rapidly ageing SX4 gets some additonal muscle, this time from an external source. Maruti has signed Bollywood actor John Abraham as the brand ambassador of the revamped Maruti SX4. John Abraham appeals to both young men and women, who is also the target audience for the SX4.
Maruti Suzuki has just raced past the 1 crore(10 million) domestic car sales mark, further reaffirming the automaker’s position as the largest and most successful Indian automaker of all time. To commemorate this landmark achievement, Maruti Suzuki has pulled the wraps off the SX4 Celebration Edition sedan. The celebration edition of the Maruti Suzuki SX4 sedan comes with many cosmetic additions and changes to distinguish it from the regular model. The SX4, by Maruti Suzuki’s own high standards has been a tepid seller and best and this cosmetic upgrade perhaps is a move to infuse some buyer interest for the SX4.

Hyundai Eon

Hyundai Eon launched starting at Rs 2.69 lakh

NEW DELHI: Korean auto major Hyundai Motor Co on Thursday launched its entry level compact car Eon that has been developed specifically for the Indian market, at an introductory price of between Rs 2.69 lakh and Rs 3.71 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The company, which operates through wholly owned subsidiary Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), said the car has been designed and developed keeping Indian consumers in mind.

"Eon has been specifically built keeping in mind the varied Indian conditions and special requirements of the customers here. It will further expand our market share in the fast-growing small car segment in the Indian market," HMIL Managing Director and CEO H W Park said.

Every small car from Hyundai definitely garners attention. Be it their first small car, the Santro or even their not so small i20. In comes news that Hyundai has been planning for a car to replace the Santro and we were all sure that it was going to be the i10, however, as is the norm, both the cars sell side by side in India. In comes more news about sightings of a car which is going to replace the ageing Santro for sure.  This car which went by the name or rather code name as HA has now officially being  christened the Hyundai Eon. We have a sneak preview of the Hyundai Eon In India. This car would officially launch around the second week of October.
This car would come with the new design language that Hyundai have been trying to promote, namely “Fluidic Concept” . That a manufacturer would bring in their highly publicized design language on a low cost  car. Multi dimensional in their approach are the head lamps while the grille is reminiscent of the new Hyundai  design language. By the way, “long period of time” is the meaning of the name Eon. Maybe, they named it so due to the fact that the Santro replacement took more than 11 years to come. We would say that the wait is worth it. This car has definitely got the style quotient  in place. The side profile definitely reminds one of some of the Merc cars. The rear profile would also remind one of many of the highly acclaimed for their design cars. Hyundai have hit the right spot with the styling of this car.
Hyundai Eon in IndiaHyundai have chucked the extra length and space thing in this car. This one has got  a shorter wheelbase than the Santro, to be exact, it stands at 2380 mm. However, the way the tall boy Santro was known for its roominess, this one wouldn’t be. It is said that space inside the cabin would be no more than the Nano. What the interiors would be are definitely notches above that of the Nano in terms of equipment as also the fit and finish. Why only the Nano, even others like the Alto, Spark and A-Star  would be left far  behind in this equipment war. A CD player would be standard along with other assorted things in the higher up variants. What the car lacks in space, Hyundai have cleverly carved out cubby holes for the Hyundai Eon in India, making it a smugglers delight in the process. The boot space for this one is also the largest in its class. It is said that it would be close to 218 liters.
Hyundai Eon interiorThe chassis is also similar to the one in the i10. This means that the ride quality as also the agility would be similar to that of the i10. This means a composed poise for this car. Seeing by the way Hyundai has done the NVH of the new fluidic Verna, even this one should be class leading. Visibility could be a problem towards the rear especially with the steeply raked in column cutting visibility to near zero. This could be a nice way by Hyundai to sell rear parking sensors as accessories for this car.
The engine for the Hyundai Eon in India would be derived from the one in the Santro. 56 Bhp of power is what the Eon is expected to bring along with it. That coupled to a nice shifting 5 speed manual would be a perfect combination in this segment.  ARAI certification says that the Eon would deliver 21 kmpl of petrol. With prices of petrol slated to touch Rs 80 per liter in the near future, this one would definitely be a chartbuster for Hyundai in terms of sales. The Hyundai Eon price in India is a thing which would definitely be an eye opener for even manufacturers like Maruti. It is said that this one would start with a base price of Rs 2.75 lakhs. Watch this space for more.

Maruti to launch Cervo this Diwali

Maruti Cervo Pictures
India’s largest auto manufacturer, Maruti is planning to launch another small car model Maruti Cervo in entry level segment in the Indian auto market. Maruti is working aggressively to launch Maruti Cervo in Indian market as a counter attack to Tata Nano which has stormed the auto market with its ultra low cost. Maruti is a market leader for small car market but the launch of Tata Nano has affected heavily the sales of Maruti 800. It is expected that the Maruti Cervo will be priced in the range of Rs 1.5 to 2 lacs. To reduce its manufacturing cost Maruti Suzuki may reduce some features from the original model which is available in Japan. It is also expected that after the launch Maruti Cervo will overtake the company’s most popular models Maruti 800 and Maruti Alto.
In a tussle to capture entry level segment in the Indian auto market, Maruti is aggressively working on Maruti Cervo to launch it in the Indian auto market by the first quarter of 2012. Maruti Cervo is a five door hatchback model with spacious passenger cabin. Maruti Cervo will be equipped with the 0.7L, 660cc petrol engine which is able to produce maximum power of 60bhp. This power-plant delivers peppy performance with great fuel efficiency.

The arching roofline, sporty headlamps and fog lamps which is placed next to its large grille makes the front appearance of Maruti Cervo very aggressive. Its rear is also appealing with its high mounted large tail lamps. The rear seat of Maruti Cervo can accommodate only two passengers while the front row has a lot more storage space as compared to the rear row. The luggage box has enough space to carry daily shopping bags.

After the launch Maruti Cervo will surely attract the younger generation with its sporty stylish look, classy interiors and sleek exterior design. The extremely sleek look, efficient engine and economical price range is bound to give a good start to Maruti Cervo. According to the predictions and speculation of auto experts, Maruti Cervo will be the fastest and most selling car in the Indian auto market, after its launch.

Maruti (in fact, media) has been tantalizing us for quite a while with the prospect of launching the ultra small car Cervo. Now, credible media reports have it that the Cervo is all set to be launched this Diwali, replacing the iconic Maruti 800. According to a report by Economic Times, Cervo will be launched this Diwali, priced between 2-2.5 lakh.

Although a senior official from Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that “the work on the car is going on and the company is planning to launch it before Diwali,” there is no guarantee that the new car is going to be in the same shape that you see in these pictures. However, we can assure you that there is something brewing in the Maruti plant and the cat will be out of the bag during the upcoming festive season.

Maruti Cervo Mileage

A yet-to-launch miracle product from Maruti Suzuki, Maruti Cervo, is expected to be launched in India with a 0.7L, 660cc petrol engine that will do away Maruti Alto, Maruti 800 and Maruti Wagon R. This entry-level hatchback is capable to generate a peak power of 60 bhp and top torque of 64Nm and the engine power will be delivered through 4 speed automatic transmission. An advanced Variable Valve Timing (VVT) technology will be loaded in the powertrain to enhance the fuel efficiency of Maruti Cervo. The technology promises better mileage by optimizing fuel consumption. As per estimation, the car would give around 20-24 kmpl of mileage. However, a lot will depend on the size, weight and tyres. But what we mention is desirable in a car which is going to replace Maruti's top selling models in India.
